Group for the Study of Prince Shotoku’s Travels

・ Objectives
Osaka is a historic city which served as the gateway (Naniwatsu) for exchange
(Japanese official diplomatic delegations sent to China during the Sui dynasty) with ancient China, and a city which brought about a revolution in the 1,400-year history from the construction of Shitennoji Temple.
The Study Group is aimed at research exchange with academics and administrative authorities on the roads Prince Shotoku is said to have traveled between the imperial capital of Yamato and Namba, and for honoring and spreading the findings.

・ The group is composed of academics in ancient history, geography, civil engineering, and urban development, administrative authorities, and those in tourism and transport businesses.

Second session
Date: Monday, July 23, 2018.
Content: Activities related to Prince Shotoku in Ikaruga. After a report on the activities in Sango in relation to the roads Prince Shotoku traveled, participants exchanged views.

First session
Date: Tuesday, February 13, 2018.
Content: After a report from a staff of Kashiwara City Historical Museum on the roads Prince Shotoku traveled, participants exchanged views.
